Tablet with Pen Vs. Mouse

Durint the first class I mentioned a pen & tablet you can use instead of a mouse for tighter editing control when making selections and painting. The link posted below shows you what the Intuos 3 tablet/pen/mouse looks like. They are always improving and expanding like all technology seems to, so if you click the picture posted below it will take you to their site where they now provide the Intous 4. I personally am using one of the older Intuos 3 tablets and see that they are still available on Amazon.

Class #2 Info

For the next class, please bring a couple Raw images that we can work with if your camera is able to capture in Raw. Don't worry if you can only provide a Jpeg - we will just use that to work in Camera Raw if necessary. We will be doing color correction, exposure adjustments, and overall image enhancements - starting in Raw & then pulling them into Photoshop to make further adjustments.

I would like you to bring in an image that is under-exposed and also one that is over-exposed as well as something that is off color (green tint, red tint, etc.). These images can be of anything you would like to work with - landscapes, portraiture, etc. I will start with a landscape image as my first example and then also work on a portrait image so you will see techniques for each.

Don't worry if your raw image isn't cropped to 4x6. We'll just be working on one image at a time so speed shouldn't be too much of an issue :)

Class 2

It took some time, but I did it! Unfortunately, I'm getting an error when I try to attach the psd file. I did resize the picture so I'm not sure what else to do. Any suggestions? Please help. Thank you!

I had to save it (renamed) as a .jpg file before I could upload it to the blog.

Soooo sorry Margie. Didn't see this earlier but Marilyn is absolutely correct. Thanks! We'll talk about this a little more in class tomorrow, but to output your media even though you've saved a great layerd image as a psd file, you do need to create a saved copy as a jpeg which flattens all the layers into one. You have to do this when you want to send your image to be printed as well. We'll go over this more tomorrow.
