This class has been designed for use by students of the Image Editing April 20th 2011 class and they are the only ones who will be able to contribute to this blog.
Use this site to upload work from class and check for the links we will be discussing during class. Please do not share this link with anyone.
Class #1 Info
For Class Next Week Bring:
Flash Drive (suggest 2G) with the following:
Exercise 2:
* (1) 4x6 close-up of you in sunglasses
* (1) 4x6 picture of something you love or enjoy
Tablet with Pen Vs. Mouse
Durint the first class I mentioned a pen & tablet you can use instead of a mouse for tighter editing control when making selections and painting. The link posted below shows you what the Intuos 3 tablet/pen/mouse looks like. They are always improving and expanding like all technology seems to, so if you click the picture posted below it will take you to their site where they now provide the Intous 4. I personally am using one of the older Intuos 3 tablets and see that they are still available on Amazon.

Class #2 Info
For the next class, please bring a couple Raw images that we can work with if your camera is able to capture in Raw. Don't worry if you can only provide a Jpeg - we will just use that to work in Camera Raw if necessary. We will be doing color correction, exposure adjustments, and overall image enhancements - starting in Raw & then pulling them into Photoshop to make further adjustments.
I would like you to bring in an image that is under-exposed and also one that is over-exposed as well as something that is off color (green tint, red tint, etc.). These images can be of anything you would like to work with - landscapes, portraiture, etc. I will start with a landscape image as my first example and then also work on a portrait image so you will see techniques for each.
Don't worry if your raw image isn't cropped to 4x6. We'll just be working on one image at a time so speed shouldn't be too much of an issue :)
Professional Print Labs (Have Personal Experience With & They Do Great Work)
For this next class you'll want to have an image of something that you would like to see removed from the image and also something you would like to make black & white with just a touch of color.
You will also be able to use the images I am working on if you prefer and want to follow along with me.
See you soon!

Class 2 - Jessie Summer 2010
I saved my file as a jpg so hopefully the project will post correctly.
Cool shot for the background Margie! And I like the way you left some of the frame black to add shape to the design. Remember to hold the shift key down as you drag the corners of your free transform box so you don't distort perspective. But actually, you get away with it here because you've maintained key factors from your pictures and haven't lost any content. Love the way you really get a feel of Jessie's summer from this composition. Great job.
Thanks Laur! The black that was left on frame 1 was there by error - think it happened when I free transformed the box, but when I tried to fix it, I couldn't. Am I correct? How do I fix it if I wanted to? See you tonight!
If you wanted to entirely fill the black, you'd have to free transform the layer with that picture and enlarge it until the black disappears. You might need to rotate it to keep the best angle of him. And as always, remember to hold the shift key down as you drag to enlarge so as not to distort him. See you soon!
